There is a methodological and axiological argument in the community studies. Sociology describes and explains social behaviours. On the other hand, pedagogy aspires to form congruent attitudes. The first one answers a question – how it is, the other – how it should be. In the upbringing issue the argument is getting even stronger. Coapting of sociology and pedagogy does not have to cause privation or fading away the identity of both disciplines. On the contrary, it can improve their crystallization.
